Sand Filter and Carbon Filter

A sand filter and a carbon filter are both used in water treatment processes but serve different purposes.

Sand Filter: This type of filter uses a bed of sand to remove suspended solids and particulate matter from water. As water passes through the sand, contaminants are trapped, allowing for cleaner water to exit. Sand filters are commonly used in swimming pools, wastewater treatment, and drinking water purification.

Carbon Filter: This filter utilizes activated carbon to adsorb impurities and chemicals, such as chlorine, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and odors. The porous structure of activated carbon provides a large surface area for adsorption, making it effective for improving water taste and quality. Carbon filters are often used in household water filtration systems and industrial applications.

Together, these filters can enhance water quality by targeting different types of contaminants.
